Scarecrow Birdsafe offers bird netting systems to efficiently and economically protect seeds, crops and fruit from damage by pest bird attacks.

Scarecrow Birdsafe nets are attractive because of the increased yield benefits for growers coupled with the high value of the yield. These nets offer virtually 100% bird protection and help maximise yields. Bird netting is available in lightweight fabrics or heavier weight fabrics for windy locations using advanced ultraviolet protected materials.

How do the Birdsafe fabrics work?


There are two ways Scarecrow Birdsafe netting can be applied to crops:

~ Draped directly on top of the crop (or trees).
~ Fastened to an overhead structure which totally encloses the vineyard, orchard or berry patch.

The special mesh size structure repels birds, provides minimal shading and excellent air circulation - allowing the crops and plants to flourish, whilst avoiding the risk of dangerous mould developing on the fruit.

The light, soft, yet tough knitted monofilament polyethylene meshes conform easily to irregular shapes and are simple to install. The choice of fabric will depend on the type of crop and layout, expected material life, and the type of equipment available for installing and retrieving the net.
